Tramway-, Pedestrian- and Bicyclebridge, Munich

Project Description

Crossing over the city highway “Mittlerer Ring” in Munich, the modern cable stayed steel bridge with a span of 84 m represents an elegant combination of tramway and footbridge, having widths of 7,5 m and 4,5 m, respectively.

The main girders are suspended with 6 cable hangers from an inclined mast. The mast with a height of 34 m is back-anchored by cables in two directions. The tramway bridge deck is built as a steel grid consisting of two hollow box main girders. The walkway bridge deck is built as a torsional stiff hollow section with a cantilevering cross beam system.
