Campus-Bridge Heilbronn: Successfull Assembly of Middle Segment
During the past weekend, the middle segment of the new pedestrian bridge having a weight of 39 tons and a length of 25 meters has been mounted and welded. For that operation, the trailtracks had to be closed completely during the weekend - a time slot that has been on target during the last months.
After welding of the bridge deck, the five hanger cables of the curved cable-stayed bridge were linked and prestressed force-controlled, based on an exactly defined and previously analyzed procedure.
The construction site management of Mayr|Ludescher|Partner was present around the clock for supervision of the restless construction works.
On Sunday afternoon, all works have been finalized successfully by the steel contractor company Stahlbau Urfer. Finally the rail traffic could be resumed on time without restrictions.
