Award for "The K"
The Culture and Convention Center of Kornwestheim, "The K", received the prize "Exemplary Construction", award prozess "Ludwigsburg 2013 - 2019", announced by the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg.
From the jury's statement:
"In a city center damaged by bombardments and repaired after the Second World War in the style of the German "Economic Miracle", the cultural center K fits into the appropriate architectural language - and stands out from the standard due to its use and sober size. The multifunctional use of space in the event hall and stage area is brilliant. The mixed use with the library, and the combination with private events, further training and high-quality cultural events elevate the K to a special place of encounter. Its vitality sets the course for urban development and makes it a nationwide point of contact. The courage of the city and the precise architectural implementation form the building into a model of municipal cultural architecture."
